A drain leaking with no water running is one of those things that's easy to ignore - but it's almost always a sign something is going on deeper in the line. That's exactly what we were dealing with here. The culprit turned out to be an AC drain tie-in that had built up enough biofilm and debris over time to create a serious clog. Not the kind of thing a bottle of drain cleaner is going to fix.

We started with a snake to break through the blockage and get things moving. But snaking alone only punches a hole through the clog - it doesn't clean the pipe walls. So we followed that up with chain descaling, which is what actually scrubs the line from wall to wall. The difference between the two steps is significant. Snaking clears the path. Descaling cleans the pipe.

Once we had the line open and cleaned out, we ran a camera inspection to confirm the job was done right. The before footage shows thick buildup coating the entire interior of the pipe - the kind of stuff that builds up slowly and eventually chokes off flow completely. The after footage tells a completely different story. Clear walls, open flow, no obstructions.

That camera step isn't just for peace of mind - it's how we verify the work. We don't guess on drain cleaning. If we can see it, we know it's clear. And if we find something else going on while we're in there, we're not leaving without telling you about it. That's just how we operate.

A leaking drain with no apparent cause is worth taking seriously. The longer buildup like this sits in a line, the worse it gets. If something feels off with your drains, don't wait around for it to turn into a bigger problem.
